The project will aim at research and talent cultivation in basic mathematics, focusing on the cutting-edge dynamics of mathematical sciences, building an exchange platform, and promoting cooperation and research. The main contents and objectives of the Shenzhen Sub-center are, firstly, to create a sub-center of the National Tianyuan Southeast Mathematics Center of Shenzhen University to build a first-class mathematics research and exchange platform; and secondly, to rely on the center to cultivate first-class basic mathematical talents and achieve first-class scientific research results. It will focus on the following four areas: 1) Differential Geometry, Complex Geometry and Geometric Analysis, 2) Algebra, Algebraic Geometry, Number Theory and Representation Theory, 3) Theory of Partial Differential Equations and Numerical Methods, 4) Optimization and Operations Research.To carry out a series of thematic academic activities, to promote the innovation and development of the discipline of mathematics, and to build up a first-class platform for exchange and cooperation and scientific research that integrate scientific research and talent cultivation and is of great importance in the international arena. Adhering to the principle of "high level, high standard and internationalization", the Southeast Center at Shenzhen University organizes a series of academic activities on a number of topics, focuses on scientific issues, gathers researches teams, cultivates young academic backbones, and deepens the cooperation between experts at home and abroad. To address the core mathematical problems in basic mathematics and its applications, the Center has carried out a series of academic activities in various forms, such as short courses, seminars and symposia, visiting collaborative research projects, academic lectures by Li-Yuan Distinguished Scholars and Colloquium, and post-doctoral recruitment, etc., with remarkable results.
