The Mathematics Department of Shenzhen University was established in 1983, which is one of the disciplines established at the beginning of the founding of Shenzhen University in 1983, and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.Over the past 40 years, the College has always kept in mind the fundamental task of establishing moral character, and adhered to the motto of "Self-supporting, Self-discipline, Self-improvement" to cultivate high-quality mathematical talents, and conveyed a large number of excellent mathematical talents to the country and society. It has delivered a large number of excellent mathematical talents for the country and the society. At present, the college has strong faculty, perfect training system for undergraduates and graduates, 4 National Leading Talent Project inductees, 2 National Young Talent Project inductees, and has made great achievements in scientific research and innovation, governance and education, social service, etc., and has become an important base for the cultivation of mathematical talents and scientific research in China, especially in South China.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of Shenzhen University, the mathematics discipline of SZU has ushered in a critical period of comprehensive development and transformation under the background of the country's vigorous development of basic science research. In order to promote the development of the discipline, promote the training of talents, better grasp the development trend of mathematics and study the direction of the development of the discipline, the School of Mathematical Sciences of SZU is scheduled to hold the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Mathematics Discipline of SZU and Mathematics Discipline Construction and Development Consultation Meeting on September 24th, 2023 in the Multi-functional Hall of the second floor of the Alumni Square of SZU.
